Aloha from the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Hawai`i John A. Burns School of Medicine. Thank you for your interest in the University of Hawai`i Integrated Pediatric Residency Program, which is committed to providing you the foundation for a lifetime career in pediatrics. The program provides excellent training in ambulatory and community pediatrics and subspecialty experiences. It takes full advantage of an accessible and dedicated faculty, outstanding community role models and the multi-ethnic population of Hawai`i to provide opportunities to learn about general pediatrics, health care delivery, different types of clinical practice, child advocacy and research, and the humanistic aspects of pediatric care. A high priority in the program is the development of critical thinking in a nurturing environment committed to helping each resident reach his or her highest potential as a future pediatrician.
