Internal Medicine/Pediatrics ProgramThis program is a four-year training program leading to board eligibility in both medicine and pediatrics. Rotations for the medicine experiences take place at the Queen's, St. Francis and Kuakini Medical Centers. The pediatric rotations are primarily concentrated at Kapi`olani Medical Center for Women and Children. Opportunities are also available at Tripler Army Medical Center and Kaiser Foundation Hospital. The curriculum is divided equally to allow for 24 months within each discipline, alternating every three months. Emphasis is placed on primary care training, but a variety of subspecialty experiences are provided ensuring a well-rounded education. Continuity clinics take place in a combined internal medicine/pediatrics clinic and are scheduled weekly during the PGY-1 year and twice weekly in subsequent years. Graduates of this program will be equipped to enter careers in primary care, clinical research, subspecialty internal medicine or pediatrics, and clinical epidemiology and community health.
